• Supervise their group of campers;

•  Participate in activities;

• In case of emergency, administer first aid;

• Discipline campers if necessary;

• Communicate camper satisfaction information to section leaders.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and families (an asset);

• Excellent communication skills;

• Available to work full-time during the summer (minimum of 30 hours per week for 6 weeks);

• Bilingual (English required & French preferred).

About the Position

Laurus is seeking a passionate and engaging Italian Language Instructor to teach introductory Italian to students in Grades 3 and 4.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and creating a fun, interactive learning environment that encourages language development and cultural appreciation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Italian language lessons for Grades 3 and 4.
• Foster students’ speaking, listening, reading, and basic writing skills in Italian.
• Create an interactive and inclusive classroom environment through games, songs, storytelling, and other age-appropriate activities.
• Adapt lessons to students’ varying learning styles and abilities.
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Communicate with the Laurus team regarding attendance, scheduling, and program-related matters.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Italian (spoken and written).
• Experience teaching Italian and working with elementary-aged children is considered a strong asset.
• Background in education, languages, linguistics, or a related field is an asset.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.
• Energetic, reliable, organized, and professional.
• Eligible to work in Canada.
